Hosted at the Weston History and Culture Center, 104 Weston Road, Weston, CT 06883
Join a discussion of local author Heather Pemberton’s thriller Hidden Below, where journalist Laney Brooks suspects that a series of fires at local landmarks are surfacing from long-held resentments over a flooded village back in the 1930s. The town is called Sheffield and the reservoir is named Rockridge, but readers will identify familiar locales throughout the novel while learning many facts about the once-flooded Valley Forge, right here in Weston. Kathy Failla will lead the group and Heather Pemberton will join the discussion towards the end.
The book and discussion are linked to the current exhibit at the Weston History and Cultural Center: Images of a Forgotten Village, Valley Forge. Following the book group’s chat, Samantha Fargione, Executive Director of the Center, will lead a private tour of the exhibit, which features artifacts and photos from the time as well as photos of the site today by the Weston Library Photography Club.
Read the book and join this deep dive into a major part of Weston’s history.
This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Weston Public Library.
